2012 GGA Geocoin - Call for Front Design Submissions

Do you have coin fever? A thirst for shiny round objects... Want those icons on your trackable list...Well it's time to help design the 2012 GGA Geocoin

We have a brand new logo and a whole new attitude! How can you work your caching adventures into the design??

Please submit your designs for the 2012 GGA Geocoin to the Steering Committee by December 17 11:59 PM. All of the design submissions will be voted on by GGA members in late December. The goal is to have the coins in hand by the February GGA meeting .

Submissions must be made to the email address.

Rather than having a vendor selected, the winning design(s) will be submitted to several vendors for quotes.

What we do know:
The coin will be round.
The coin will be either 1.5” or 1.75” in size.
The coin will have color on both sides.
The coin will be trackable on geocaching.com.
The coin will have a custom icon.

Submission Requirements:
1. The year 2012 must be included somewhere in the design.
Since the GGA Logo and web address will be on the back - it's not required, but can be included.
2. The format for submissions is JPG only.

Please email your design submissions to ggacoin@gmail.com by midnight December 17, 2011. There is no limit to the amount of designs a member can submit.

Looks like the image has the same security issue in this posting as well.

I started working on something, and hopefully can finish it up by the deadline.

I look forward to seeing it. I don't think people want me to come up with something.

I cannot draw, not artcee in anyway, but for a coin, I can see in my head and heck of a geocoin.
So if you can draw it, we may have a winner or maybe not. I see a magical geo mobile flying around in a circle with stops at a light pole, a waterfall, rock cliff, covered bridge, bottom of a lake, fire tower on top of a mountain, car body at the bottom of a canyon, tree top, tunnel, storm drain, bear den, Light pole, high rise sign, pvc pipe, mountain swimming hole, OH SHOOT, WAIT A MINUTE THIS IS A COIN. Maybe we should do a Plaque or something.

I can't draw either nor am I very good with the various graphics programs, however, I can put something together enough that the mint can easily redraw it from my comp.

Can someone tell me what font is being used on the outer circle of the back side? I'd like to use the same one.

Well I won't have that one, but I have several "sharpie" and "marker" fonts that will be close enough for a comp.

I saw this after I already laid the text in. I used One Stroke Script. It's another marker font. A little cleaner for raised metal, IMO. Regardless, the mint can change/match fonts when doing their rendering.
