Where is the Allatoona WMA? Also, what is involved? I have never been to an NGORGE event but have always been interested. I have a Wrangler but don't want to do anything to tear it up.
Look on the map for the "Generic Geocache" cache. The entrance to the trail is right there. Rendezvous for the event would probably be at I575 and GA20.
A stock wranger can do the trail without problems, but there are overhanging branches that can scrape the top/sides.
As the trail is quite narrow, a fullsize truck is not recommended.
Some steepish hills, small creek crossings, and a little mud are there now. If it rains before the ride it could be more "interesting."
The above applies to driving to "Little Rapid Foo Foo". Afterwards we would tale Upper Sweetwater road to approach "Seldom Seen", after which there would be a hike to the cache.

I would be interested. I will have to see if I get my new GPS before then. If not, would anybody be interested in riding with me or me with them? I don't bite and I've had my shots. I will leave from the Griffin area and can stop anywhere between here and there.
I would like to go on this trip But sadley I do not have a rig that can make it that far besides the tank which will not run those trails. I would be more then happy to help with gas to tag along.

I'm sure we will have empty seats for those who don't have an offroad vehicle.
I have created an event cache entry. Once it is active, please log your "will attend" and if you can take pasengers.

I have never been on anything like this and was wondering if it's something that a newbie would be able to do with no problem? I have been interested in going to one of the NGORGE events but never knew if I would be able to do it.
I will take as many passengers as can comfortably fit in a Wrangler. I will post this when the cache page is up.
I'm sure everyone going will be happy to help you with navigating these unpaved roads. I do believe you will working with existing, what are sometimes called, fire roads. There are rough but passable. BTW - "Princess Isis" was available at GC.com if you want to use something like that.

I have narrowed down my choices to two and I'm leaning towards one of them now. I just have to decide if that's what I want to be known as. It is definitely fitting. I also have a third that I looked at but didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings.
We're up for it! Log posted. No 4WD yet, and probably not in the next month, so we will need a ride (actually 2...) and will be happy to contribute food to the Jeep...

Posted my intent to attend. Anyone needing a ride is more than welcome. I can carry 3 more but 2 will have a small backseat to sit in. It is a Wrangler and I know they aren't known for roominess.
Anyone wanting to arrange anything before the event can email at collegeparkcid at hotmail dot com
I had thought I was going to go...But I forgot I have Habit for Humanity that day. Dang. I had even prearranged for a seat so I wouldn't have to drive "Otie". Oh well, Maybe next time.

Well I said I was going to be there but got to checking the calendar and that day just so happens to be my better half's birthday. whoops I almost forgot. She would kill me!
Have talked T3 into going and allow me to ride along, seeing as the itty-bitty 3-wheelie trails bar Big Boy from going. Any recommendations on good nearby caches? CharlieP's Donelson Furnace is already on my list. Any others worth a stop?

Well, if you're in our neck of the woods over here... Etowah Cache and Etowah Chief are a nice little hike and you can get two for one hike. Luck of the Draw is a good one, be sure to read all the logs. There are a bunch of good caches down around the Little River, It's Toonigh, Epic Cow, Area 575, I'm probably leaving some out... Cliffhanger at Poole's Mill Park is pretty close, I can't remember if you've done that one, but it's a good one. Fern City Swimming Hole is a little north, but also one of my favorites. I have to miss this meeting, Whineybutt and I are doing the Hike Inn at Amicolola Saturday. We'll see if we can find a few up there.
