I have been programming computers for over thirty years. I was one of earliest PC programmers, except they were called desktop computers since they cost way too much for a person to own.

I like Johnnie always liked maps as child. I was also interested in computers. Now in the late 60’s a teenager interested in computers couldn’t just take their and/or their parent’s money to a store and buy a computer. I had to buy parts to build my own ladder relay systems. Back in those days you didn’t program computers, you wired them. The most complicated thing I ever got it to do was play tic-tac-toe. I didn’t get to program computers until college and that was with punch cards.

I got my GPS before geocaching.com came up; my intended use was to have it with me when I hiked, to measure distance, time and therefore speed. But I found geocaching.com a few weeks after it came up. Geocaching combined my love of hiking, computers, and geography via the GPS in a fun way.

I work for an automobile company, been in that industry all my working life.

I've always been interested in geography and the out-of-doors. Geocaching all sort of brought it together while I was working with the Boy Scout troop my son was in.

Stay at home mom's rock. Being a single parent that can not 'stay at home', I salute you.

I work in Quality Assurance/Control in software development. This allows me to 'BREAK' stuff Big Grin in order to uncover the software bugs.

Yes folks, believe it or not, software really can have defects. Roll Eyes

Country lawyer......like Johnnie and Allen I have always been fascinated with maps....always looked forward to the next Saturday Evening Post for the part where they would give you a small portion of a map to look at and you would have to figure out where it was.

GIS Manager for the local government here in northeast Georgia. I’ve always loved maps and computers. This job is a perfect fit. The job can be quiet tedious with all the data that must be maintained/edited to keep everything current.

I run the day to day operations of a trade association and have for 9 years. I was in hospitality industry before that, but I like not having to travel as much now!

Mrs. SpiderWebb is a stay at home mom (and works SO much harder than me) and the littlest SpiderWebb is an 11 yr old 6th grader growing up way too fast!

All 3 of us wish we had more time for geacaching and camping!

I am an independent, self-employed consultant to electric utility companies and large electricity users. I do rate design, cost analysis, and assist with contract issues and rate filings. In other words, I spend a lot of time buried in large Excel spreadsheets, scratching my head.

I had a GPSR for my boat and decided to try geocaching as a way to get exercise, instead of just walking circles around my neighborhood. Geocaching naturally appealed to me, since I have always liked hunting for things and being outdoors.
