Beware the Thorns! |
That's always been the problem with querys, the archived ones don't show. That's why I don't clear the history in my default database. Every so often I go in and check last query dates - any cache with a last query date not in the last week has prob been archived since they drop off the report then. I then manually get the gpx file for those and update both databases that way and in the active database I remove the unavailable and archived caches while leaving them in the default database.
I run queries A-E on one day, F,G,H and Unavailable the second day and then I,J, and K the last. T1 |

Guess I'm an old fart also. I found 1,3,4,5, and 10. Looks like a couple that are left may be close enough to give them a shot. #10 Enota is much, much easier than the 4.5 terrain it used to be. The best stage (#2) has been eliminated. |

#10 has been eliminated. Poor lonely Cache has been visited. This was a great day. Check out the log and pics. GCHA2G Enota. May have shortened the trip but we still had a blast today. Cool Hide. |

I think we were the last to find Enota or at least before stage two was taken out. We were unable to find two so we went on a letter box type hunt on the final with info given by a former finder.
I contacted the owner several times and was very dissapointed with there reaction. The darn seashell was there but no little container to be found. I really felt for the guy who hunted and hunted after the needs maintenance was posted. Just goes to say that if you want to come to the mountains(or anywhere a distance from your home for that matter) and hide a cache you'd better be willing and able to take care of it. Sorry! Sore subject! |

I am going to lead a "mountain tour" Jeep ride with Southern Jeeps club on 1/26 that will in fact visit the stage locations for Forest Rescue. Anyone with a 4wd Jeep is welcome to join us.
We will also pass by my Persimmon Gap cache and a number of other caches (Tragedy, Uncle Mateson, etc.) See here for more details. |

Going back to the final stage doesn't count Actually, the problem is people not being able to find one or the other of the first 3 stages. I'm hoping to go uop this weekend to move stage 4, I don't like it being so close to the AT, and in all the briars. If I can make it up, I'll make sure all the other stages are still in place. ------------------------------ Four wheel drive allows you to get stuck in places even more inaccessible. |

You have to 'log in' to see whatever it is you want us to see, but from the caches you listed, 4WD shouldn't be necessary? |

To drive to final stage for Forest Rescue 4WD is often needed, unless you drive off the trail to bypass, as others have done, a somewhat deep mud hole. There have been times when the water was near the top of my tires (32"). I've never seen the bottom, so no idea how deep the actual ruts are under it. ------------------------------ Four wheel drive allows you to get stuck in places even more inaccessible. |

Our Jeep club expedition visited Forest Rescue today, coming from Nimblewell Gap. I found stage 3 to get the new final coords, and found the cache in a "logical" spot, although my GPS showed me 38' away.
When I opened the logbook I saw that another cacher had been there already today. |
