Ok, so I have been somewhat remiss in updating this list. I have just taken a quick look through the cache lists I have, and I think I have another cache or two which should be in this list, but haven't been recently...
1) No Long-Term Parking GCW6XF - 7/16/2006 2) The hard way GCWHDM - 1/2/2007 3) Floyd High5 GCK4T8 - 1/20/2007 4) Cache#1, Lake Burton GC56A - 1/28/2007 5a) Band of Brothers GC2037 - 3/31/07 5b) The Dude's Letter Box GC7DFC - 3/31/07 6) Riverboats and Railroad GCJ7EQ - 4/14/2007 7) Die Hard Sports Fan GC10N15 - 4/19/2007 8) Still the Wrong Way GCV9ZR - 7/5/2007 9a) "00 Geo" GCM0CQ - 7/22/2007 9b) R.C.II: Adventurers Challenge GCN5Q0 - 7/22/2007 (currently unavailable as of 11/5/2008) 10) In the beginning...The End GCR7P7 - 7/26/2008 (currently unavailable as of 12/18/08) |

You can take #3 Floyd High5 off the list. We found it today and it's in great shape.

Looking over my GSAK database, I have found that it appears I may have overlooked a few caches due to the fact that I had no listed found data for a small number of caches. As such, I am re-building this list based upon the new data found in my reviewing of the caches in question.
1) 30k GC7530 - 1/11/2004 2) River Bluff GC16E - 2/10/2006 3) Below the Dam GC600 - 4/8/2006 4) Cat Cache GC1345 - 4/15/2006 5) No Long-Term Parking GCW6XF - 7/16/2006 6) MockingBirdHill GCGTBY - 12/9/2006 7) The hard way GCWHDM - 1/2/2007 8) Cache#1, Lake Burton GC56A - 1/28/2007 9) 1st Anniversary Cache -- SOAP? GC877 2/17/2007 10a) Band of Brothers GC2037 - 3/31/07 10b) The Dude's Letter Box GC7DFC - 3/31/07 Looking at this top 10 loneliest caches, I see that all but #s 7, 8, 10a and b are currently unavailable due to various environmental concerns. I have also noted that I have been forgetting to keep track of any cache which I have found, so it is entirely possible that one or more of the caches I have found is present on this list, and I don't know it. Do yall want me to ignore caches which are disabled "temporarily" due to environmental concerns (construction, CRNRA negotiations, etc.), or leave them in this list? I am also looking at reformulating my PQs to get me the active caches I have found as well, so that I don't miss one of those if it is on this loneliest list. Since I am not WAY up there in the numbers, this shouldn't be too far off, but there are a few caches I have found which are liable to be among the loneliest caches, so there you have it. Thoughts? |

Can you create a "top ten lonely active cache" list? If those mentioned above do become active again maybe they will be incorporated into the top ten list at that time. Thanks.

I can't speak for all ten on that list, but the first four, and #9, are disabled caches on NPS administered property in the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. They were placed prior to the NPS ban on caches there, but were either muggled or removed by the NPS. Three of them are mine, and the caches are gone. I don't want to archive them for two reasons: 1) I'd like the NPS to recognize the fact that we haven't given up on our desire to hide caches in parks citizens own. 2) I can't "unarchive" a cache that's been archived longer than three months, so hesitate to do so in the hope that I'll be able to one day replace them and keep the log history going. ~erik~ |

I am going to re-run my PQs over the weekend (I did not realized a couple had run before I got the dates finalized so my DB is missing about 200 caches). But based on what I have here is the list of ACTIVE loneliest caches. I will update this Monday after my PQs run over the weekend.
1) No Long-Term Parking GCW6XF - 7/16/2006 2) The hard way GCWHDM - 1/2/2007 3) Cache#1, Lake Burton GC56A - 1/28/2007 4) Band of Brothers GC2037 - 3/31/07 5) Still the Wrong Way GCV9ZR - 7/5/07 6) "00 Geo" GCMOCQ - 7/22/2007 7) Forbidden Forest II GCDB50 - 7/31/2007 8) Musgos Negro y Pantanos, Por Favor by Southern Harvester - GCN4BB 8/7/2007 9) Rebel's Revenge GCGA3Z - 8/25/2007 10) At the end of Old River GCV1GB - 9/2/2007 Another interesting thing to look at is the Oldest Never Found Active caches in Georgia...There are only 6 caches that are over a month old and have never been found. They are: Rock Creeks Enigma (GC18E84) - 1/5/2008 FAIN'S CACHE (GC18FR9) 1/8/2008 Tiger Cache (GC1C8C1) 5/14/2008 Cypress Spring (GC1F4MQ) 8/9/2008 Georgia on my mind (GC1JP3V) 12/5/2008 Magnolia by (GC1JPRK) 12/6/2008 This message has been edited. Ok so even with a few issues with PQs over the weekend (some said they ran on Saturday but I never got my emails then it let me run 8 on Sunday?????) But I think my PQs are good now and here is the current version of the top 10 loneliest caches that are currently active:

Yeah, I am still running my queries, but for some reason, there are about a half dozen caches which, while active, never seem to be included in the PQs for no reason I can track down. And yeah, I was a bit concerned by the inactive caches being in that list as well. I'll purge those caches from the list for any future updates I post.

Not sure if anyone is still updating the Top 10 lonliest caches.
#4 - Band of Brothers (GC2037) has been found after almost 2 years of sitting up there on Curahee mountain. Today I teamed up with sparc77 and tiehack and we were able to find it. Tiehack actually located the cache after using a rope to "swing" over to the cache. Another great cache that deserves more finds, but I suggest hunting this one with a partner. |

Great job of knocking off number 4. I'll bet a updated list will soon appear.

I will try to get a new list up tomorrow for your caching pleasures. Since I'm on my 5th computer in less then a year I'm having to update everything as I go (again) and have several hundred caches to manually get a gpx file from to find the last found date, etc...
