Looking at my name at the left, you will see my custom avatar picture of J.C. and the custom title "and the puppymonster" underneath it. You can add the avatar of your choice on your profile page. Click the MyPop link at the top of the page to go to your profile page and make any updates you would like.
Unlike the Groundspeak Geocaching Forums, you cannot add the custom title yourself. We will be more than happy to add the information for you. You can send an email if you like, or just post a message here with what you would like for your custom title. If you have any questions regarding your customizaton features, just post them below! |

Interesting, Groundspeak allows its members to change their title, but not to have a custom URL for an avator. This board doesn't allow members to change their title, but does allow custom URLS for avators (so my dynamic Avator works here). Yet they are both products of INFOPOP.
Side note almost off topic, I don't think a group which has no legal existence can hold a copyright. |

Our product is the less expensive "ubb.x" product offered by Infopop. Groundspeak uses the considerably more expensive "OpenTopic" product. He can integrate his site and the OpenTopic product together so you can login to both at the same time and use the same profile for both, etc. We don't really need that and we could not afford it either. It is nice that the two products have the same look and feel. I am looking forward to more graemlins and the ability to have custom graemlins!

I knew about the different products, basically I find it interesting that the "cheaper" product has features the more expensive product doesn't.

I bet the integration is the expensive part. It is cool that we have so many of the great features as the expensive product. I wish we could have imported the important old topics instead of manually moving them.

Of course due to where new forum is running admins have access to the underlaying MySQL database and/or to the XML which drives the forum. Since you also have access to PHP and PERL, with proper programing a lot of integration could be done.
