Went to a military surplus store in Dallas, GA and no ammo cans were available. I was told the ammo can supply is dwindling rapidly. Anyone else seeing this problem?

Also, Is anybody having issues with their ammo can caches disappearing? I had one in Paulding Meadows that was away from any normal walking areas buried in a thicket and it was taken. No way it got flooded either. It was found and removed. I had contact info inside.

Anyways, this store had gas mask containers which look like a giant thermos. They are water proof, rust resistant and under $5.00. They are smaller inside than a 30 cal can though. So I'm switching to these for my hides now.

I had one swiped that was tethered up in a tree. I can only figure someone walking through (Waaay off in an isolated part of the park) saw it and grabbed it.
Looking at the government auction sites, the prices for ammo cans does seem to be up.

Army Navy Store in Forest Park has TONS of all different size ammo cans. I was in there right after New Years. I've never seen them very low on inventory. I've heard they are a little higher priced than other places.

You can find ammo cans in the woods near you, if you have a GPS'er

We had an ammo can hidden in a wooded area on the property of a country store. We stopped by to perform maintenance one day and noticed we were being spyed upon. The next log entry was a DNF. Sure'nuf it was MIA along with all the contents. We were told that the described muggle frequents the area in search of scrap metal. They think he took it.....

I used a gas mask can for my missing ammo box. I went and bought 5 more to place sometime soon. I like them and the are under $5!!

Is the gas mask can waterproof all the way, like underwater proof?
