Newspaper Article

Of course Erik hogs most of the text.

http://www.gainesvilletimes.com/news/stories/20020314/localnews/1821221.html( added 3/15) Copy of the Article on Reporter's website www.danwashburn.com/nacoochee.html it includes pictures.

But at least it mentions www.ggaonline.org.
I had thought about putting a cache on Yonah, so I checked on his "Nacoochee's Revenge" and Yonah Mountian has the potential to be more interesting than Currahee Mountain and "Band of Brothers"

I watch Star Trek. I watched the last Star Wars movie. I loved LoTR and was highly impressed...must have read the trilogy 4 times and the Hobbit at least 6.

Does that ...make ...uhhh...me....a ...uhhh...geek? :P

oh well. I was in marching band too....so....no need to go any further...yes I am a geek....besides...my wife says I am....hehe..

Re: Newspaper Article

<------- GEEK!

I got home last night late and I was wondering if the Enterprise episode was a rerun. I saw less that three seconds of it and said "Dangit, a rerun tonight!?!" My wife said "Yeah, I stopped the tape already." I must be a Mega-Geek since I tape Enterprise so I won't miss it.

Now if you really want to see what TRUE Star Trek Geeks/Nerds think, you have to go to this EZBoard. These guys are OVERBOARD and WAY beyond geekdom!!! And yes, if you look at the "Re-Runs already" thread, you will see a posting by yours truly (with some intelligence in my words of wisdom). If you ever wanted to know anything about Star Trek, this is your forum.

Re: Newspaper Article

That is a nice article. I encouraged him to also interview "Sushi of the Fisherkings" and he said - hey yea, Channel 11 is part of the same organization as our paper. I told him that was another example of a news person who covered geocaching becoming one. He also said he'd been waiting for Jeremy to return his e-mailed request for an interview. Wonder if that happened?

Re: Newspaper Article

Dan told me he sent email to contact(at)geocaching.com. Well somewhere in the forums at groundspeak yesterday, Jeremy mentioned a couple of things

1. He gets about 150 emails a day.
2. He is several days behind due to the recent changes he did for geocaching.com

I suspect that Jeremy either hasn't gotten the email, or if he has gotten it then due to being so far behind he doesn't have time to worry about reporters.

I know that when I sent him a warning about how hackers could make mischief with a database driven website (like geocaching.com) and how to prevent that, it took about a week before he answered with a thanks and that he would plug that hole.

Neutiquam erro.
