GGA 2011 Calendar Time! Let's see those pics!

We will do two calendars again this year. One will be for caches in Georgia only. The second calendar for any cache that you have found anywhere in the world outside of Georgia.

There are some very important requirements for pictures to be accepted for voting:

To submit a photo for the calendar you need to have a digital camera of at least 1.3 megapixels. Smaller images will not reproduce well. We have offered the option of scanning film images, but have never had a request for that so I am dropping that this year. Digital cameras are so prevalent that this should not be an issue. If it is, contact me.

The recommended image size for this is quite large at 1725 pixels by 1350 pixels at 72 DPI (PPI). This equates to a 2.3 megapixel camera image. In the past, digital photos that were originally 1150 pixels by 900 pixels at 72 DPI (PPI) do work on the calendar but are blurry. That is a 1.3 mega-pixel camera. If your image is less than 1150 x 900 we will not use it so we can have the best quality photos. The bigger the original image the better! Please submit landscape format photos only.

PLEASE check so you know where the image is before submitting. I would suggest putting it in a special folder in case your picture is chosen. That way you know right where it is, you know it is the right size needed and you can get pictures in quickly if selected.

Once again:
1. Photos from a 1.3 mega-pixel camera or larger. (1150 pixels by 900 pixels at 72 DPI (PPI))
2. Landscape format only.
3. Maximum of 12 pictures per cacher per calendar.

Please place links to your photos in this topic. You can also show some smaller thumbnails. Try to avoid large images here since they stretch out and are hard to see the whole photo. The GC.com site shrinks photos pretty well usually anyway.

Give the GCXXXX waypoint code for the cache and/or a link to the cache page. Links are great!

State whether it is in GA or out of GA. Separating the "in state" and "out of state" into 2 post submissions would be best.

All submissions must be listed here by 11:59 PM October 28, 2010. We will then create a voting web page. Anyone can submit a photo, but final voting will be done by GGA Members in the members only voting section. The calendars will be created and available shortly after voting ends in our calendar sale sites. We may also have some "In State" calendars available as GGA Events.

I have photos for both GA and OS, but don't have a clue how to get them posted here. For once I've actually got some worthy! I tried to set up a Photobucket account, but it stated I wasn't eligible...
Can someone PLEASE help me so I don't miss yet another GGA deadline???

If you have uploaded them to the cache page on gc.com you can link to them that way and get them posted here. Once they are uploaded to gc.com just copy the link location URL of the picture and paste it in the IMAGE box when you are posting here in the forums and the picture will show up.

There are other photo sharing sites out there as well like Flickr or if you have a Google account or want to make one you can use Picasa.

I have not used either one of those sites so not sure exactly how they work.

I uploaded mine to an archived cache. Then linked to the URLs for each photo.

Just be sure to resize smaller copies of your originals and upload those. Mine are reduced by 80% of the original image size.
