Anyone know if there is a good trail map for Cochran Mills that I can download before making the trek up to cache in that area? I am planning a trip with a caching friend of mine for 12/28 but would like to map out some of the trails and what caches we will attempt before going. Not at all familiar with the park, so any help is appreciated.

Huh. I did some poking around and - nothing. Seems to be some maps, allegedly, on trails.com but I don't want to have to register in order to see what they have. If you come across anything let me know, please. I'd like to cache around there sometime myself. And if you get there and find a hardcopy grab one & maybe we can arrange to have it scanned in, eh?

Will do, I didnt want to sign up for trails.com either. I know that there is a map out there, as someone posted that they were updating it for the GA Orienteering club. I am not sure if the trails are on this one, but any map would help. I was hoping someone may have access to it or another map. Here is the image of the one posted in one of the cache pages.

Heh, good point. We're geocachers - we don't need trails!

Trails are always optional. Really wanting boundaries and closest point of approach. It is still hunting season.

Richard - I've got a hard copy of that map in the picture. Unfortunately:
a) the GA Orienteering Club specifies that this is not to be duplicated w/o authorization,
b) there are no trails on it anyway.

There aren't really any established trails on the west side. You don't really need 'em...just follow the creek.

Montana said something about how he would like to check on his cache Sunday, then he mumbled something about Rusty.

Rusty will be in Orlando for Christmas, otherwise he'd show you where the "trails" are.

Thanks, that helps, it is the side I was most worried about. I think from the picture of the map I can stay pretty much away from the lines for most caches.

Well....not really. If you're doing "Out of Bounds", you'll be all over the boundaries. Of course if you do that one first, then you'll know where the lines are. Better idea is to start with OOB & do the others as you work your way around.

Take a hint from us: Just Waymark your car and go for it. It took us two whole days and 3 1/2 days to get most of them. Good luck!
