Congratulations to whoever out there is sick enough to threaten retaliation over something that was not intended and has been appropriately corrected and apologized for. Whoever does such a thing should be truly ashamed. Flaming Mad

Holy Crap... How childish can these people be???

Why don't you bring some of that to me?

Cause you know I would hunt your butts down and beat you down on public television, That's Why.

I am sooooo mad and embarassed to share the same hobby as you.

I got the same message from him. It is sad that they don't realize they are doing the same thing only worse. This is not a witch hunt it is a discussion on policing ourselves. I will remind those to ignorant to realize that those acts are criminal and there are a lot of us law enforcement types that would spend our own time and energy to protect this hobby from these types of senseless acts. Geo-Cop
16-7-21 Criminal Trespass. A person commits the offense of criminal trespass when he intentionaly damages any property of another without consent and the damage is less than $500.
16-8-2 Theft by Taking. A person commits the offense of theft by taking when he unlawfully takes the property of another with the intent of depriving him of that property.
16-4-1 Criminal Attempt. A person commits the offense of criminal attempt when, with the intent to commit a specific crime, he performs ANY act which constitutes a step toward the commision of that crime. (This means that now that they made the threat, merely arriving near the location of one of these caches is enough to be charged with that crime).

Everyone seems to be returning to their "happy place",as Phat.bak would say.I'm sort of in the dark,as I missed the earlier logs, but I know one thing,I don't want to mess with Slayerette!!! Eek PEACE> Poppoppig
P S,
Please excuse this poor attempt at humor in regard to a very serious situation.I only meant to lighten things up a bit,but threatening to destroy our caches is serious business. PPP

Well, I'm not in my happy place yet - not until the threats are retracted. The IP addresses have been narrowed down from what I understand. I just find it to be completely cowardly that vanity e-mail addresses would be used to threaten someone in our own community. If you are that person(s) and I ever find out who you are, I will never respect another thing about you. Sure it's just me and why should you care? Just ask yourself, this question. If it were you in the position of the cacher who's log was used as an example, would you want that to haunt you forever???? Also, just know that I have a lot of free time on my hands and am willing to watch caches.

I didn't take it that she was insinuating anything of the kind.

I think she was passing on the info about the ip addresses. And putting a general warning out there. That's how I took it.

She's pretty fired up. But not at you. It's the "If I ever find out who you are..." that she is refering to.

No worries Buddy... I know you. You're too nice a guy to email threats.

YOU better be! Aaaaarrrrrrggh ***cracking knuckles***

hehehee

Phil,

Absolutely not! I am referring to the individuals that have e-mailed the cacher who's log was originally posted. Unless you have e-mailed him and threatened the security of his caches, then this does not pertain to you in any way. I am defending his honorable actions of apoligizing. Read the entire string and you might catch the drift of this issue. Why would you think that my last post pertained to you? - I don't get that AT ALL.

Geomuse,
I apologize;I think when you began your post with a quote from my previous post about everyone returning to their "happy place" I assumed too much!.BTW ,I also apologize for that rather flippant remark,I was merely trying to bring some calm to the log.I see now it is probably being taken more seriously than I perceived, and I was not very sensitive to the problem.I too should feel POed.
Please accept my apology, and I'm deleting that post, and I've never been to Lake Lanier in my life. Phil
P S
And I'm also scared like hell of Slayerette. PPP

No problem, PPP. I certainly appreciate the apology.

I was a serious situation and could be until certain threats are retracted.

Enjoy the rest of the day and have a great weekend.

Let's just all let this subject close for now - unless caches begin to be compromised - then, that will be another story altogether. Peeved

Well, it is becoming clear why you are Slayerette, not Barbie-cacher or Sweet-Thang. Wink
