I received my replacement Colorado 400t today for the defective unit which I had bought and returned. I was testing it along with my 'ole trusty 60CSx. I was in the quest of "Deer Island" and I went in at the wrong entry and somewhere my 60 fell off my clip.
I would appreciate anyone's help in finding it if they're going after this cache. I'm going to try to retrace my steps tomorrow but if anyone finds it before I would appreciate the call. There will be an reward !

Sorry to hear of your loss. I'm sure a geocacher would be glad to return it to you, but for the others, a reward might work better than an award. Wink

If you don't find it you might post a notice at the trailhead...

Good luck,

erik

Thanks Erik !
I meant "reward" I was tired and disheartened last night.
I went back today but no luck. The owner of the cache emailed me today but he's in China. He said his son would look for it.
We'll see.
Mike

Sorry, you didn't find your GPSr. If you want to go back over next weekend, let me know and I'll help. I located redworm's for her once after she lost it. Another set of eyes wouldn't hurt. I don't know where you entered the area based on the description, so I would be hesitant to try on my own - but, I'd be willing to help. Are you certain you had it when you left your vehicle?

Cache, responsibly.....

Thanks Geomuse,
Yea, I had both GPSrs going to compare results and it was starting to get dark when I realized it wasn't on my clip. I entered the area on the right behind the houses and followed deer tracks.I finally ran into the main trail and I think I lost it right before that. I stooped down to get something and I believe it fell off then. I couldn't seem to find that spot even following the tracks on the Colorado.
Thanks for the offer. Maybe later this week after work.
Mike

drperv,

I was working very close to this cache today so I stopped by and tried to locate your GPSr. (didn't) From reading your note on the cache page and the comments above, I sorta came to the conclusion that you entered from the NNE. It took about 10 ~ 15 minutes to hike in & locate the McDonald's toy container, then I spent a little over an hour scouring every possible approach but the ground is covered with a triple canopy that starts at three feet and extends all the way to the ground. It's hard to even see your feet much less something the size of a pack of cigs. I quickly came to the conclusion that short of divine intervention, the only way anyone's gonna locate that sucker is with a three man crew armed w/ a weed eater, metal detector and a dowsing rod.

I also searched the area between the creek and the main trail but I really wasn't sure that you even used this approach so I didn't spend a whole lot of time there. Sorry I couldn't help you... maybe someone with a copy of your track log will have better luck.

Hey mudbug65,
Thanks so much for all your effort. I really appreciate it!
I hope to get back in there soon. I entered off to the right of the main trails, right behind the houses. I was almost to the cache where I think I lost it. It was a short while before I discoved the main trails.
Thanks again,
Mike (drperp)
